That’s cause he knows it’s not right to pee in the den.. Pee goes OUTSIDE.. Real dogs pee and poop outside.
try to use dog treats and give rewards.
You’re going to need a baby gate, and keep him restricted to a small space at night. Or a dog crate. This is the only way you are going to have clean floors while he is training!
During the day, take him to the pad at least every hour or so…when he does something on it, praise him effusively! Every time he does it, lots of praise. You have to do this over and over and over so he gets the connection…he wants to please you. Eventually he will get it, and then you can try leaving him out of confinement at night and see if he remembers. Excellent luck!
ok at night place ur yorkie in the bathroom, with at least two pads, a dog wont pee or poop in its surroundings until it has too, and during the day keep he/she in the bathroom, and when he/she gets used to the thought, that it needs to pee or poop they will go straight to the bathroom and do its thing, try this for about 2 weeks ull see the diffrence trust me
10 months Yorkie should be able to hold overnight.
But try to use treats. Every time my Yorkie pee on the pad, I gave her treats. So, when she is indoor, she only pee on the pad.
This is how I trained my 1 year ancient Japanese Chin when we got at 4 months. Place newspaper pages around the whole room where he’s going to do his business. When he does his business on a section of the paper, obviously throw it away and place a new newspaper page where the business was done. Then after about 3-5 days, find the area that he’s done his business and start limiting the amount of newspaper where he isn’t doing his business. Then get a litter crate (what you would use for a cat, though they have those made for dogs, but it’s the same thing) and place the crate with newspaper there in his preferred spot. When he does his business, give him a treat to let him know he’s done excellent. Then, if you want, you can replace the newspaper with a puppy pad, but I prefer newspaper as it’s cheaper and it does the job.
You will know in the beginning that he has to do something when he starts circling around chasing his tail (most dogs do this, and Yorkies are no different). My dog has had few accidents (all dogs will) but when he does have an accident, give a loud firm “no”, “terrible dog” (emphasis on loud and firm) to him at the area that he did the accident at. I’m telling you, we have had no problems whatsoever. Since November, he’s had less than 10 accidents indoors. He always go in his litter crate and rarely will he pee outside when we walk him. But he does his business, and we immediately throw it away. Excellent luck.
Just place a puppy pad in his kennel. Because we got 5 month ancient pekepoos and they just went on the pad because they were puppy pad trained.When he gets excellent at that take him outside and tell him to go potty.And he be excellent at that and he won’t go on the floor anymore.
