I dont think that you can change the settings, but when you have finished listening to the song, click the select button on your iPod, then scroll, until the diamond is at the end. It bugs me, too. A lot of my songs end when there are still about 10 seconds left, so it doesn't count it as me listening to the song. I am pretty sure there is no way to alter it. Sorry!
