How do I get iTunes to refresh its database?

by iPad on February 10, 2010

After installing iTunes and loading up my new iPod, I learned that my id3 tags were a mess. I used an external editor to do batch changes (the godfather), and things now appear to be much cleaner.

But, iTunes does not reflect the changes that I made.

Can I force iTunes to re-scan the music files on my hard drive?

the only way i can think of is to “delete” the songs in the library, without deleting them from your computer and then import them back into itunes.

Try using iTunes to change the tags. This way, you know iTunes and the iPod will be displaying the same file when it is playing.
